Exploring My Bookshelves is a weekly meme created over at Addlepates and Book Nerds, and co-hosted with Shannon @ For the Love of Words. For more info on how it works, have a look here!!!
So for this week’s topic, it is the ugliest book cover that I have on my book shelf. This will be very hard for me because I usually buy books with cute covers but I think I can manage to find a book with an ‘ugly’ cover.
Prince of Frogs
Barbara Plum
Goodreads blurb:
CEO Ben McDonald, still haunted by the death of wife, finds his life thrown into delightful chaos when he gets a second chance at love with his daughter’s pediatrician, Dr. Risa Taylor, who, along with her newly adopted triplets, heals the pain of the past. Original.
I don’t even know why I bought his book. I usually buy dollar books (around Php 50 in here) from Booksale as long as it has a pretty cover. Admit it, you’ve once judged a book by its cover. I know I did and I am usually right. Pretty books usually have good stories. If they are not good, at least you’ve got a pretty bookshelf. The thing that doesn’t sit with me too well about this book is the colors. I don’t know why I ever thought that pink and teal looks good together especially if we’re talking about the neon hues. I could have forgiven the color but the frog on the cover sealed the deal for me. I just didn’t like it on the cover.
For this one. I haven’t read it yet. Maybe if I run out of books in my virtual and actual bookshelf, I will… Which is pretty much never.
Ugh, you’re right, those colours don’t go at all. Who designs these things?? Thanks for participating! 🙂 And don’t forget to add your link to my post when it goes up later tonight
