Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve done this meme. I’ve been such a slacker and I just don’t know where or how to start anymore! But then I guess that is what these memes are for, right? Anyways, without any further ado, this week’s topic is all about my fave Snape moment.
I guess it is safe to say that Snape did redeem himself at the end of the series. Yes he was horrible to Harry in so many ways but that’s just his own twisted way of showing that he cares. Most people might say that their fave moment was when it was revealed that Snape was just trying to protect Harry because of Lily. I guess that is one of my strong contenders but that first potions lesson takes the win for me.
I mean, come on. It’s Alan Rickman, for Merlin’s sake!! He’s like, the perfect Snape and he’s just so cool during that first class. Swooping dramatically towards the front, addressing the class in a no non-sense way. Straight to the point and just plain simple. His attitude really rounds up the scene and it was one of those rare moments when the movie actually exceeded my expectations while reading the books because I do have a very vivid imagination. It’s like I have that comic thought bubble above my head where the characters are moving around doing their thing.
This moment really stood out to me that I even tried to recreate it with my very own character in Hogwarts Online (read more about it HERE). I am very proud to say that I was able to be like Snape during my tenure as a Professor at Hogwarts. I might update that series of blog about HO soon so this will be clearer for everyone, but going back to the topic at hand, my character’s name is Nearra and she is a Slytherin when she attended Hogwarts and immediately started teaching Potions (Basic and advanced potions) after graduating. It was her best subject at school. Then after about a few years or so (in RP years) she became the Head of House of Slytherin as well as the Potions Department Head. She was head for like, a year IRL before I fell off the face of the RP world due to real life reasons. I would leave an excerpt of my post for that class here but due to site changes and thousands of topics in the archives, I rather not. You just have to take my word for it.
So yeah, there you go. My fave Snape moment and the story of how it affected my life. I just wish he didn’t die, but then, who knows what would happen if he didn’t? I’ll just leave you with this Snape gif because I won’t be able to forgive myself if I don’t. You know what’s coming…
